Description of the assignment

A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Financial Accountant to work within the UK business at our Warrington Office.

Main purpose of job

·         Reports to the System Finance Manager and support to other Finance Managers in the day to day operation of the Finance function

Responsibilities

·         Detailed month end balance sheet analysis and reconciliations

·         Working closely with Finance Managers to submit local statutory requirements e.g. VAT returns, ONS reporting, CIS

·         Support to Systems Finance Manager with regular tasks such as weekly timesheet processing, PO queries, workflow, system period end routine and user’s access

·         Support to Finance Manager projects and planning, with production of monthly project papers, period end reports and period end cost centre journals

·         Working closely with Accountancy team to prepare month end financial information and analysis, KPI and overhead reporting

·         Update Corporation tax detailed analysis on a monthly basis for disallowed costs

·         Weekly and 13 week rolling cashflow forecasts

·         Cover for daily cashflow reporting to group

·         Oversea’s support to sister companies for management accounts, forecasts and reporting

·         Prepare reports and explain variances to budget/forecast/prior months

·         Support FD and FM’s in budgeting, forecasting and cashflow’s

·         Support wider finance team, building good relationships with key contacts

·         Involvement in implementing improvements to financial procedures and controls

·         Adhoc project work as required and to support development

Profile

Key Attributes & Experience

·         Accounting assistant experience or have worked within an accountancy environment

·         Good, confident oral and written communication skills

·         Excellent organisational skills and ability to work towards deadlines

·         High degree of self-motivation and ability to work on own initiative

·         Demonstrates a structured approach to analytical problem solving

·         Microsoft Office Applications especially within Excel (including Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word)

·         Part Qualified, AAT or working towards CIMA, ACCA, ACA

Desirable

·         Understanding of integrated financial systems

·         Knowledge of Unit4 ERP useful

·         Understanding commercial drivers of a business.
