NUVIA UK’s Technical Services and Consulting department draws on the strong foundations of NUVIA's consulting heritage, with industry recognised specialists having expertise and experience spanning many decades both within the UK and Internationally.

Nestled within this is the Technical Services Management Unit, which is responsible for the provision of embedded personnel to the ensemble of clientele across the NUVIA UK’s portfolio. Embedded personnel are NUVIA employees (engineering, PMs, etc) who, on a daily basis, operate under the direction of our clients and deliver their project scope, often in a hybrid capacity between client office and NUVIA/home locations.

The opportunity to embed personnel is a result of professional relationships and frameworks that have been fostered and nurtured, to date. The management of such relationships and securing future embedded contracts to position new and existing employees into client organisations will all be key parts of the Business Development Manager role.

With a focus on the UK nuclear market, serving both civil and defence clients, the Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of the Technical Services team’s objectives and initiatives in 2025 and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sales process from identification of an opportunity through to contract signature.
  • Develop and manage a sales pipeline, including the identification, qualification and pursuit of leads, and tracking their progress through the sales process.
  • Contribute to the development of sales and marketing strategies.
  • Work with the technical and operational teams to develop proposals, bids, and tender responses that meet client requirements and align with NUVIA UK’s capabilities and ambitions.
  • Work closely with the recruitment team, flowing down client requirements to then identify the appropriate candidates for tender responses.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients/partners, including pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on business development and sales activity to the TS&C leadership team.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of Technical Services’ clientele, producing and maintaining the internal client business development packs and plans to identify and map key players, trends, and opportunities.
  • Working alongside the Head of Technical Services, identify and research potential clients, markets, and business opportunities, prior to creating an approach to engage with them.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry bodies, to support BD and sales efforts.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows as required.

Why join the Technical Services team?
We like to think of the Technical Services as an intrapreneurial project – a start-up effort delivered within the confines and security of a successful and established nuclear, engineering company.

Whilst we have an upward direction of travel and commit to delivering growth objectives, we practice a certain agility, pivoting and adapting our progress to an evolving landscape and ever-growing list of opportunities and clients.
