NUVIA UK's Technical Services department are recruiting for an experienced Lead Control Systems Engineer. This is an embedded opportunity, supporting one of our leading clients within the nuclear industry. Location wise, you will be based out of with Albion Square in Cumbria or Birchwood Park in Warrington. Some travel to the Sellafield site may also be required. 

Please note the ability to obtain SC level security clearance is essential, as a minimum.

Project Description:

The Control Systems Category has ongoing projects in the delivery (Stage 4) and the operate, embed, and close (Stage 5) stages via the Supply of Control Systems Contract and the previous Control Systems Framework. A Lead CE&I Design Engineer is required to support the Categorised Projects Control Systems Stage 4 and Stage 5 Cell Lead in the management of delivery across a portfolio of projects being delivered across these delivery routes.

Role Description:

The role is to support the Stage4/5 Cell Lead in overseeing delivery, installation and commissioning across the following projects:

• WAMAC Consignment 3 (Stage 5)
• THORP Fire Dampers (Stage 4)
• Inlet Cells (Stage 5)
• HALES SCADA (Stage 5)

Key requirements of the role are:

• Ensuring that all deliverables produced as part of the PES life cycle are of requisite quality and that the solutions to be implemented are fit for purpose and satisfy the specified requirements.
• Witnessing testing of systems at vendors in support or on behalf of the Cell Lead.
• Inspection of equipment and Lifetime Quality Records to ensure readiness for despatch from vendors.
• Providing the first point of technical support during installation and commissioning to ensure there is a timely response to technical queries and fault observations.
• Ensuring configuration baseline is maintained and documentation is reflective of the plant status at system handover.
• Working closely with the project teams including team engineers, Vendors and clients.
• Attending site visits to undertake site surveys.
• Attending client and supplier meetings.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

• It is not necessary for candidates to have nuclear experience; however, the candidates must have significant experience in working with PLCs - Rockwell preferred and SCADA packages.
• Strong knowledge of project management and project controls principles.
• Strong Team Leadership experience.
• Degree Qualified in appropriate discipline or demonstrable experience equivalent to SL SQEP Level 3.
