Description of the assignment

Nuclear Engineer (Mechanical) Degree Apprentice

The NUVIA Apprentice Programmes offer the perfect opportunity to gain ‘on the job’ training and experience with industry experts, whilst studying for a degree - without the worry of covering tuition fees!

At NUVIA UK, we’re looking for ambitious individuals to undertake our Nuclear Degree Apprenticeship, on the Mechanical Engineering pathway. This Apprenticeship Programme incorporates the Nuclear Engineer Standard, which teaches the common elements of engineering (including the application of Maths and Science to solve engineering problems, and understanding the principles of nuclear technology), whilst the ‘on the job’ aspect, provides the complimentary and practical experience of live projects, which help to shape your career and development.

Based at either our Harwell or Risley office, the first year of the Programme will see you working alongside our Consultancy Engineering team, with opportunities to work with our other nuclear specialist teams. Over the duration of the Programme, the opportunities will enable shadowing of experts which will embed the theoretical engineering knowledge for those with an inquisitive mind and desire to learn something new. We’d love openness to the idea of travel, whether that be in the UK or internationally - when these opportunities arise, they can provide invaluable experience and networks for the future.

On completion of the apprenticeship, you’ll be able to apply for professional registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) through an appropriate Professional Engineering Institution.

Our Nuclear Degree Apprenticeship programme is aimed at people who have a passion for learning, the motivation to achieve and can rise to different challenges. If you possess the behaviours for success, we can give you the skills and knowledge to reach new heights.
