NUVIA UK's Technical Services department are recruiting for an experienced Senior CS&A Engineer. This is an embedded opportunity, supporting one of our leading clients within the nuclear industry. Location wise, you can be based out of the client's office at Birchwood Park in Warrington, on a hybrid basis. Please note we can also recruit on a permanent basis.
Please note the ability to obtain BPSS level security clearance is essential, as a minimum.
About The Role:
Product Zone Power Supply Project (PZPSP)
The PZPSP has been commissioned by the SRP project to review and complete the existing Power Supply study on their behalf.
The Scope is outlined below:
- Stakeholder engagement with design, construction and System Engineers to assist in the determination of the preferred 11kV cable route.
- Determining the preferred power supply origin point on the network for the new supply.
- Provision of an underpinned study report with proposed actions/recommendations.
The CS&A elements of the project will include:
- HV cables structural supports – steelwork and foundation designs.
- Steel service support bridges – steelwork and foundation designs.
- Review of site survey outputs of existing cable supports and trenches: assessing their condition and proposing remedial works were applicable.
- Optioneering the proposed new cable routes, to determine the preferred solution based on underpinning assessments.
A CS&A Engineer is required to support the delivery of the CS&A elements of the project, in collaboration with other stakeholders and engineering disciplines. The role will involve the following, among others:
- General all round civil and structural design experience required, with experience working on new nuclear build and interfaces with existing structures preferred.
- Experience is also required in the design of concrete, steel and masonry structures, subject to normal and abnormal environmental loading, including seismic assessments (preferred).
- Supporting the delivery of the CS&A design deliverables (e.g. designs, assessments, drawings, and reports), checking and approving the output.
- Experienced in delivering work for SL (preferred).
- The person should be either a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer, or the minimum an Incorporated Engineer.
- This role requires interface with Integrated Design Team, facility team (including systems engineering), other project functions and must work closely throughout project phases.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and on-site (Sellafield) visits.

- Degree qualified CS&A Engineer (or equivalent through enhanced experience).
Essential Experience:
- A minimum of three years working within a highly regulated industry.
- Familiar with a range of available design technologies and techniques.
- Production of CS&A design documents e.g. civil and structural calculations (design/assessment/substantiation), engineering drawings, specifications, scopes of work, method statements.
- Proficient in Steel and Concrete design to current codes.
- Knowledge of CDM and design responsibilities.
- Capable of independent and autonomous work during the delivery of packages.
- Able to actively seek input from other engineers, specialists, facility and project team members to improve understanding and deliver fit for purpose solutions.
- Be able to present information in forms specifically aimed at a variety of target audiences,
