About the role: 

The project entails the Installation of equipment for a Waste handling facility for Nuclear site requiring a Integrated Works Test to test the installation procedures and the operation of the equipment. Nuvia are looking for a number of individuals across Mechanical Fitters, Operatives and Supervisors. This is long term work and looking to start later this year

Main Purpose of the Job:

·         To supervise the Team at (specify location), ensuring all required needs within the department are fully covered

·         Provide support and assistance to all Engineering, site based or support based personnel.

·         Provide support to all managers and operational personnel as required by the department or project

·         Manages team priorities with regards tasks and ensures communication of this both up and down the chain of command

·         Management of systems and consumables required by the team

Key Accountabilities:

·        Prioritisation of work as required by client, project, site or team

·        Supervision of the team against task and requirements

·        Ensure that quality and safety precautions are understood and adhered to

·        Ensure that reporting is communicated both up and down the chain of command

·        To take responsibility and accountability in the absence of the designated manager

·        Ensure documentation and procedures are adhered to on project or site

·        Able to ensure key stakeholders have access to relevant information where and when necessary

·        Have excellent resource management skills

·        Able to interact at senior level with clients and 3rd parties

·        Ensure teams comply with quality procedures and best practice

·        Able to problem solve

Able of producing status reports as and when required

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

·        Must have a sound basic education backed up by good communication skills ideally GCSE qualifications in a range of subjects or a HND/HNC in Business Management with a ECDL, City & Guilds or equivalent

·        Excellent People Management Skills

·        To have excellent communication skills and must be able to communicate with all levels of staff

·        Ability to multi-task, work to strict deadlines, prioritise tasks and be well organised

·        Good basic computer skills especially Microsoft Office packages and or database experience including Microsoft Access

·        Good knowledge of the site and the hazards associated with each building

·        Knowledge of HP&S and site regulations

·        Vocation Training – City and Guilds Radiation Safety Practice Stages 1 and 2

·        Radiation Protection Supervisor course

·        Radioactive Materials Co-ordinator course

·        Deputy Nominated Source Holder certificate

·        At least 5 years’ experience to gain a thorough knowledge of all aspects of HP&S operations, site familiarisation and obtain training qualifications

Desirable skills:

·         Knowledge of the nuclear industry and or experience of working in a regulated environment
