NUVIA are actively recruiting for and experienced Nuclear Process Design Engineer, providing engineering support and advice, and deliver design solutions in support of naval nuclear refit and maintenance activities across the Devonport Nuclear Licensed Site and Ministry of Defence Authorised Site.

The role has flexible working arrangements with time spent remotely, office based and on-site, including in radiologically controlled areas.

Your primary focus will be maintaining and controlling modifications to, and deviations from, the design intent of process/pressure systems and acting as the custodian of reference design documentation. You will be responsible for undertaking design activities from requirements capture, design development, implementation and close out, to through-life support, decommissioning and disposal. You will be focussed on ensuring compliance with Licence Conditions, statutory legislation and design codes/standards, producing design guidance, substantiation and analyses, and delivering against agreed budgets/timescales.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences:

• Understanding of mechanical engineering principles for the design, operation and maintenance of pressure/pipework systems.
• Knowledge of the design lifecycle.
• Knowledge of the general regulations, legislation and standards that are applicable to nuclear process and pressure system design.
• Minimum of HNC or equivalent in a mechanical/process engineering discipline.
   

And, technical experience with one or more of the following:

• Pressure systems
  Computer aided design
  Component engineering simulation
  System fluid flow analysis
  Nuclear plant design
